Awake! Has some subtle hints on the authors belief that our unconscious minds can influence our lives in ways that are subtle and not so subtle. Despite our modern comforts we live more isolated than ever, and can be subject to forces more powerful than we can know.

Are night terrors all just in our head? Or is there something deeper going on?

Awake is Bren's largest and most ambitious solo project to date, exploring the horror's of sleep paralysis, with hints of social isolation and stress while living in a London flat. Awake is an exploration of how unconscious forces can influence our lives in ways subtle and otherwise. 24 pages of original comic book art with eye popping visceral visuals and experimental layouts. An additional 4 pages of extra material has been added to the book.

Drawing comics is hard!

It's probably the hardest way to be an illustrator or an artist. Drawing comics requires a high degree of skill, figure drawing and character design, advanced perspective and technical drawing, environment design, storytelling, colour, line... It also requires a lot of planning and research. Currently I do all of this in my own time, because it's what I love and I want to share it with the world.

If you enjoy these comics and appreciate what I do, please consider leaving me one-off tip or donation via my Ko-Fi page if you feel you can. It costs less than a cup of coffee in London, and makes a huge difference to me .
